Also, under current law the board is required to promulgate rules establishing:
1) the minimum number of hours of continuing education requirements that a
licensed psychologist must have in order to renew his or her license; and 2) the
criteria for the approval of continuing education programs and courses. This bill
provides that the board must also promulgate rules establishing the topic areas that
continuing education must cover. The bill also requires the rules promulgated by the
board concerning continuing education to be consistent with the continuing
education curriculum content criteria established by the committee for the approval
of continuing education sponsors of the American Psychological Association.
